The review was written 2010-08-10 by: Hugh Millar How was the booking process handled?: Other comments about the hotel: Rooms very good. Might think of adding TVs for the rainy days. Would rethink the outside shower set up.Staff very helpful. No mention of any of the sport facilities advertised on the web when asked, and there were no bicycles for rent as advertised.
The review was written 2010-07-31 by: Sarah Rae Cadwallader How was the booking process handled?: Other comments about the hotel: This resort was perfect! It is absolutely beautiful. The pictures from the website do not do it justice. The staff was so friendly and they went above and beyond to take care of our every request. I can not wait to return to Mooban Talay! Thank you to all of the staff for a perfect vacation!
The review was written 2010-07-28 by: S P How was the booking process handled?: Other comments about the hotel: hotel provides free ferry transfer from the nuanthip pier in ban phe. freshly squeezed juice and freshly brewed coffee for breakfast, hotel ammenities ok, superior bungallow still can see the beach. hotel is located at the end of public road, so there is no road between the hotel/room and the beach, which was great. many fishing boat anchored hundred of yards away -- pretty sight at night. very quiet beach but some rubbish drifted from the mainland presumably. a pretty outcrop to the north of the hotel/cape noi na is worth a visit. why they don t clean dog litters in the beach? lots of trees and nice garden, we even saw some hornbill birds for several days. more than enough sunbeds for everyone, also several thatched roof huts with hammock for those who prefers shade.
The review was written 2010-07-06 by: Thomas Hamilton How was the booking process handled?: ThailandHotels-24.com was great. Super fast and better price than agoda. They aren t always cheaper, but this time they were. A lot of time ThailandHotels-24.com can get rooms even when other sites don t have any rooms left. Other comments about the hotel: I stayed at this hotel 5 years ago during high season and thought it was the best hotel because it has a nice white sand isolated beach away from banana boats and tour groups. There is really no where else on Samet that you can have a bungalow right next to your own beach. This trip during low season I wasn t as impressed. The rooms are run down, so they seem way overpriced. Other beaches during low season aren t that crowded so this hotel loses its advantage. There was no hot water in our delux bungalow. The hotel staff couldn t help us because the water heater was too far away from the room. This was the same 5 years ago. Everyone must complain about this, but they haven t tried to fix it. We also had water leaking out of our Refrigerator all over the room. Next time I m staying somewhere else.

The review was written 2009-11-02 by: Jeanette Sy How was the booking process handled?: Nice and easy Other comments about the hotel: The hotel was beautiful. This is not the first time I ve come and definately not the last. The hotel is right up at the top of the island, away from everyone. It s like you have the whole beach to yourself!
The review was written 2009-04-30 by: Jennifer Saville How was the booking process handled?: Very good booking service and very efficient. Other comments about the hotel: Excellent resort and private beach. Very Zen. Loved the location and this was my second visit in a year there. Its quiet and stunning. The beach is pristine and water fabulous. A bit too $$ in these economic crisis times though but lovley. It is a delightful and totally relaxing place to stay and the best on Koh Samet and I recommend it to everyone. It would be good if they had push bikes on hire and cheaper kayaks. But otherwise brilliant. Make sure you ask for fresh coffee at breakfast otherwise theyll give you nescafe!
The review was written 2009-03-18 by: Olga Lappi-Hokka How was the booking process handled?: Very good, prompt and professional. Will use it again. Other comments about the hotel: Excellent hotel. It was all that their website promised. Wonderful unique atmosphere, one had privacy while having the service always available. Frindly staff. I will be back to this resort and can recommend it.
The review was written 2008-08-14 by: David J Bourner How was the booking process handled?: the booking service system indicated that the first choice I had made for a hotel on Koh Samed was not available, so I took this as a working option. Other comments about the hotel: I can see this resort as being a very romantic spot with better weather than the rainy season offers travellers at this time of the year. Accommodations were spaceous and comfortable and memorable in terms of the unique touches in the luxury bungalows, situated a stone s throw away from the beach. Had a nice peaceful time here. Staff were very friendly and service oriented. I liked the local ferryboat that took us visitors back to the mainland. Very convenient.
The review was written 2008-05-06 by: Koen van Wielink How was the booking process handled?: Booking with ThailandHotels-24.com.com was quick and efficient as always. Other comments about the hotel: Although a nice resort, it is not worth the money spent. It is a nice quiet area, but the 4 to 5K baht that they charge is just too expensive. The resort itself closes at 10pm (didn t mention this when we dropped off our keys, so came home at 10.30 to a closed reception without our room keys...), there are no tv s in the rooms, no bathtub, just the private outdoor shower (not always convenient when it rains) and generally there is just not much to do at or around the resort. The food at the restaurant, although not bad, is too expensive for what you get, and better food can be had much cheaper at other parts of the island. Has to be said that the service of the staff is generally good and friendly. The resort is far away from the main bar/restaurant area at Had Sai Kiew/Ao Phai, and with a taxi between 200 and 300 baht 1 way, it s inconveniently located if you don t want to spend the whole day at the resort and not spend a big chunk of your budget on taxi fares. All in all just not worth the expenses. Would consider going again if they would lower their prices with 2/3rd.
The review was written 2008-05-14 by: Chad W Bramble How was the booking process handled?: No problems Other comments about the hotel: Rooms were nice, clean and quiet. The staff was nice. The food was good (fairly expensive on the island). The beach was only OK--no real waves--and it is a long walk to a better beach. I would recommend this hotel.
The review was written 2008-03-05 by: Markus Kammerer How was the booking process handled?: smooth as always Other comments about the hotel: I canNOT recommend this hotel. While the hotel is very nice, individual bungalows at the beach and all such, there are several drawbacks:1. Sandflies ! I got over a hundred bites still itching after a week (and doctor visit to get steroid cream and anti-histamin)2. High season price, but I was the only guest !!!3. Although est. 20 people working there very slow service during dinner (esp. drinks)4. Overall some more maintenance necessary, especially the wood terraces and such did not see paint or nuturing oil for years5. Sea view bungalow means that you can view the sea by looking at photos when you are in your room. Only beachview bungalows are really nice.6. The rooms are way too small for the high price. Not even TV or radio.
The review was written 2007-12-03 by: Syryi How was the booking process handled?: good Other comments about the hotel: Very small hotel with small and old rooms, towels are not good, a lot of mosquitos and insects at the beach. But stuff is very friendly and restaurant is good.
