The review was written 2011-04-10 by: BENCHARAT HEBERT How was the booking process handled?: Other comments about the hotel: The Downtown Inn should be renamed Downunder Den. This is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but it is the top 5 running for worst. We fought mosquitoes all night the first night. The bathroom is so small that you must move the shower curtain to get to the toilet. The breakfast buffet, we have previously enjoyed, was no longer available. This morning I woke up with a terrible back ache from a too soft bed.We will definitely not be returning to this hotel and will submit our review to websites.

The review was written 2010-12-01 by: wanida How was the booking process handled?: Always good but need faster service with accuracy Other comments about the hotel: The service (reception / food at room service was very good. The staffs were helpful. BF was OK but look not so clean. The room looked a bit small and old. The pool was too small for swimming. It is very close to night barzar. Recommend if you do not want to stay too far from the night market. Value for your money. [ThailandHotels-24.com integr.ERR:escaping]
The review was written 2010-12-04 by: IAN BROWN How was the booking process handled?: as always - great service Other comments about the hotel: The good bit: its a great location and 1,000 baht. But, lets for a minute look at the pictures in the dining room; Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and the Beatles. Now, do you think this could be some kind of retro-chic ? or is it just a sign that the hotel hasn t been updated since the 80 s ? Well why not pay your 1,000 baht and find out ? but be prepared for that strange smell in the room to permeate your clothes - the smell of 20 years worth of unchanged carpet and mattress that you can take away as a souvenir. And can i pass on my thanks to the cleaning staff who in the staff room next to my room (305) would help me wake up at 7 am everyday by banging on the wall. Fantastic job.Oh - and the breakfast is good.

The review was written 2009-05-10 by: Ena Hamzic How was the booking process handled?: The booking went very well without any complications so I would recommend people to book through thailandguiden.se. Other comments about the hotel: Down Town Inn was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip in Thailand. The staff was always friendly, the hotel was clean and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. It s location was also one of the best things with the hotel. Remember DOWN TOWN INN when you re in Chiang Mai.

The room was ok, a lot of ants though, but otherwise clean. It s a good place to stay if you re interested in checking out the nightmarket, it s only a few steps away. The poolarea was so-so. The review was written 2009-03-25 by: Mara Joy Lambert How was the booking process handled?: Fast and effective. Other comments about the hotel: Great location, really couldn t get much better! Hotel is average, fine as it has everything needed and quite clean, no extras though. Staff speak very little English and it appears that most rooms are smoking.Do not book hotel transfers as they cost more than an airport taxi and are in a shuttle bus that only runs every hour. Would stay again. [ThailandHotels-24.com integr.ERR:escaping]
The review was written 2009-01-27 by: David Leong How was the booking process handled?: Very efficient, no fuzz. Staff very prompt in repying to e-mail even after making bookings. Other comments about the hotel: Room was of good size, clean and comfortable. Free daily supply of bottled walk. Moderate spread at complimentary breakfast. Within minutes walking to the markets and the Ping River (at right of Inn). You may also like to walk to the Old City from here -- about 30 minutes slow walk.
