Other comments about the hotel: No elevator and a lot of stairs. Not very good with small children. A four star hotel should al least have a elevator. No good parking for cars or motorbikes to think twice before you rent. Everything felt old and worn out and the staff was not so nice and friendly like you normally see in Thailand

Other comments about the hotel: This hotel is great. I ve wanted to stay here for years but always stayed at cheaper places. This was worth the money both in service & quality. If you ask for something, they come within a few minutes. My only regret is that the villas were all booked. We stayed 4 nights which is 1 more than planned because our other hotel double booked a night. We moved to a private pool villa that was more expensive for 3 nights & we regretted leaving the Dara. It was so much classier & professional. Very clean & the little amenities make it special. Breakfast has a buffet & you can order hot items off the menu. It would take weeks to try all the selections they offer. The pool bar staff is great & attentive. The breakfast staff recognizes you after the first day & remembers your room number. Other comments about the hotel: This is the second year we came back to Dara Samui. Although there was a mix up with our booking, which was corrected by ThailandHotels-24.com. Compared to last year I was a litte disappointed, there were too many noisy guests in the hotel who kept me from sleeping. Also my whole family got a foodpoisening from the restaurant of a chicken curry. We spend 1 day in bed being very sick. But we love Dara Samui and still will go back, because the hotel is on one of the best locations on the beach. In January the tide is still very high and the beach is only available after 2 p.m. before that time you have wet feet!!! [ThailandHotels-24.com integr.ERR:escaping]

Other comments about the hotel: Although this hotel is not the very newest one, it is definitely in good shape overall and the rooms are nice, clean and the design well done. When walking up and down the beach it can be said that this hotel has by far one of the best looks and the loungers are in best shape and what you see is another proove that you have done the right decision for this hotel.The only negative point was coming from a security man who tried to prevent my wife from entering the hotel only because she is Thai and this was accompanied by a very rude and impolite Thai speaking. In the very last moment I could hinder the man to even hold grip to my wife and after intervention from reception personal the situation could be cleared. In the following days the man could not stop to make joking greetings to us whenever he has seen us. Hotel personal could see no reason to stop this man from doing so.This gives the very odd feeling that Thai-Western couples are not welcome in this place - by the way we are married nearly 10 years now and did not even think about the possibility of this could happen in a luxury resort. Other comments about the hotel: Very nice hotel in traditional Thai-style. The rooms are clean, in a good condition and furnished tastefully. A little minus is that the also tastefully arranged hotel area is very small which also results in a small beach area and therefore noise from the neighbourhood sometimes disturb relaxing, unfortunately also from the hotel itself (loud music). Apart from that the beach area is also clean, sun umbrellas and sunloungers are available at any time and service is also friendly and courteous.The service in general is great and in a personal way. All staff members try to give their best although we get the feeling that there isn t a professional organization and knowledge behind - but we didn t miss anything.All in all we can highly recommend this hotel for adults and couples as it is one of the exalted ones at Chaweng Beach. Other comments about the hotel: Overall a good family resort with very friendly staff going out of their way to please. The swimming pool is great with an interesting design, the deluxe rooms are comfortable and boast a huge king size bed and a spacious bathroom with a bath tube large enough to accommodate both you and the boss (wife) altogether. The street side restaurant is also very ineteresting with live music every night both western and thai and good seafood.The downsides are staircases if your room happens to be on the upper floors, Its a bit too close to the souther tip of Chaweng road making it a long walk if you wanna explore north. neverthless still in the middel of the action.Definitely a thumbs up.
